Phoenix Fights

Fighting the FEAR, depression and BDP on a daily basis AND making my own bread. Bring it on 2016….

So yes it’s a reblog, and no it ain’t Monday, but sometimes only this song will do.

Phoenix Fights

After my massive ‘boo hoo, it’s not fair!’ tantrum yesterday, I think it has to be time for another Pity Party song 😉

I heard this on Danny Baker’s Great Album Showdown last night, and was reminded how much I love it.

Whilst Karen Carpenters plays down her ‘blues’ everyone knows what they were eventually the cause of her demise, but God did she make her mark whilst she was here. Voice like velvet, songs that anyone who suffers from ‘the blues’ can relate to, she was a formidable talent that left us far, far too soon.

So whilst it ain’t Monday and for once it ain’t raining, I’m allowing myself the luxury of listening to this once again before getting off my cross, slapping myself around the chops and getting on with my day.

Enjoy x

  1. For me, it’s rainy days and Sundays. Sunday is a black hole into which the world falls with a resounding thud.
