25 DAYS OF SONGS CHALLENGE: DAY 10 – A SONG BY MY FAVOURITE BAND

I’m gonna be brief, because I’m in a frustrated, angry, what’s-the-point kinda mood and there’ll be no shifting it for a good while as far as I can tell.

I don’t have a favourite band.

I like lot’s of bands. But I love the Dan and we don’t hear enough of them, so I’m choosing this, for no other reason than I love it and despite being a failer/bailer/self jailer in all aspects of my life, I didn’t want to miss a day on this challenge.

Enjoy x

  1. Music is good and a balm for the soul. When all else fails – music.

  2. I’m enjoying your 25-day challenge.

  3. Yaaay ! – ah kin reelly do this one !!! 🙂

  4. I don’t have a favourite band either (ignorance on my part) and what’s more i’m being cheeky BIG time: not one, but TWO tracks from one of my favourite musicals. Hope they give you at least half a laugh.

  5. Madame and Ms. Meikle, once again, likewise—can’t cull it down to THE favorite.
But, if pressed, let us go with:

“TWO LITTLE HITLERS”, ELVIS COSTELLO AND THE ATTRACTIONS
“Dial me a valentine, she’s a smooth operator
It’s all so calculated, she’s got a calculator
She’s my soft-touch typewriter, and I’m her great dictator”

Oh, to hell with it.  He’s not a band, but, Mr. McManus is unqualifiedly my favorite.  With the Attractions, with the Imposters, the Confederates, the Rude Five, the Brodsky Quartet, T-Bone Burnett, Steve Nieve, Jimmy Cliff, Nick Lowe, the Roots, solo, backing Roy Orbison—if it’s got Elvis, it’s for me.

    • Saw Elvis Costello three times in his heyday, you have impeccable taste sir 😉

      • I must, Madame, because I can’t get enough of you. 🙂

While no agoraphobe, I have never liked a crowd scene, so have only been to seven live shows: the Clash once, Warren Zevon once, Elvis five times. Can’t get enough of him either.
