25 DAYS OF SONGS CHALLENGE: DAY 19 – THE FIRST SONG ALPHABETICALLY IN MY IPOD/ITUNES

A nice chilled out tune for y’all today, A.D. 2000 from ‘Mama’s Gun’ which was written as eulogy/gentle protest after the shooting of a Guinea immigrant, Amadou Diallo in 1999.

Love a bit of Erykah, me…

  1. your choices are far too modern for me, I’m a total ignoramus! like to read your posts never the less. 🙂

  2. Mmmmmmmm…Absolutely, Madame.  Love a LOT of Miss Badu, me—“‘Cause Miss Badu’s always comin’ for real”.

As explained in my DAY 6 adventure in logorrhea, I am a somewhat stiff-necked technophobe.  As such, I possess neither MP3 player nor down-loaded music.  And, while immensely enjoying my inclusion in the present exercise, I just didn’t have it in me to sort through a couple of dozen 78’s, a handful of 45’s, a few score LP’s, tens of cassettes and 250+ compact discs, to find the alphabetically first and last songs.  So, though having availed myself of the Internet, this and the following response are by no means definitive.  Yes, I am not proud of my laggardliness.

    “ABSOLUTELY SWEET MARIE”, BOB DYLAN
The original studio recording from 1966’s BLONDE ON BLONDE.
    Accept no substitutes.
